Happy New Year to all our members. 2025 has started off in a positive fashion, with Silson having the best County Cross Country entry for many years. Your captains will enter you for the Midland Champs, if you let them know you want to run by January 12th. Prior to that deadline, we have an important Chiltern League fixture at Watford on January 11th. It is a longer journey, so take advantage of the coach, which will be leaving Towcester at 11am. All January fixtures below, plus a report on the County Cross Country.
Northants County Cross Country Wicksteed Park Kettering - Saturday January 4th
With the backdrop of a roller coaster, Silson boasted full senior teams for the first time for many years. The hard overnight frost was thawing, making running conditions good for most of the course.
It was good for the veteran men’s team with bronze and the lady vets with silver to be rewarded for their efforts. With Helen Heley individually medalling with a vet bronze. All Silson runners competed very well on the day.
Steven Wareham was running his first ever cross country race and was closely followed by a strong running James Spencer. In the ladies’ race Jade Storer ran a fine race, with Susan Mulligan the third of the ladies’ vets team.
Helen Heley and Julie Hammond should be invited to run for Northants in the Nottingham Inter Counties on March 8.

Saturday Winter Track Training returns to Stowe School on Saturday January 18th 10.30am.
